Met Enter Shikari a week ago and they were not only super nice and funny but also way more talented than I remembered them to be. I was really blown away by their show and am extremely excited to see them again in june!

Met Blessthefall yesterday and besides us all freezing like crazy because of the very cold weather in Hamburg I had a great time. Jared and Matt were in a very good mood and took time to answer all of my questions, their tourmanager Dave is such a nice person and Elliott joined us for the picture!

The shows were amazing! Even though Chelsea Grin are a little too heavy for me I really liked their energy. Blessthefall were brilliant, the new songs from their album “Awakening” sounded really good and Asking Alexandria were way better than I expected. The way Danny switches from shoutings to clear vocals is simply impressing.

Unfortunately I had to cancel going to the Shinedown show which really makes me sad since I wanted to see them and Halestorm, too (they’re part of the Roadrunner Records Family now as well!) but there’s no way I can make it to Hamburg and back to my hometown that evening. So hopefully the next show I’ll attend will be Deaf Havana and The Maine in one week!

The emptiness will haunt you.

Only one week to go until I see Alesana again. Third time and even though I liked their second record way much than the new one I’m still pretty excited to see them again. This time they’re bringing We Came As Romans, Glamour Of The Kill and Iwrestledabearonce, three bands that I haven’t seen before so it should be an interesting night! Of course I’ll write about the show, this time you’ll be able to read it on allschools.net

Oh and not to forget, I’ll head over to Hamburg again a few days later to catch up with Blessthefall on what they’re up to and enjoy performances by Chelsea Grin as well as Asking Alexandria!

FESTIVALtime.

Even though it’s a looong time for the summer festivals to come up, I’m already excited to go there. Last year the weather was horrible and made it a little hard to enjoy but I’m crossing fingers that we’ll be blessed with sunshine this year!
I’ll definitely go to Hurricane Festival and Reload. Reload Festival is pretty small but has the most amazing bands so that’s the perfect combination. You can go to the camping ground, have a beer and get a jacket (even though we’ll only need sunblocker this year!) and be back for the next band. The headliners will be announced soon but August Burns Red, Puddle of Mudd, Eyes Set To Kill and Parkway Drive already make a great line up! Depending on the bands maybe I’ll spend a day at Deichbrand and some other small festivals as well.

Bury Tomorrow und While She Sleeps, ein wunderbarer Tag in Hannover um mit Gustav Wood zu plaudern und das Young Guns Konzert anzusehen, ein sehr chaotischer, dann aber schöner Nachmittag mit Evaline, anschließend Bush sehen, ein kurzes aber interessantes Interview mit Gavin, Bradley wiedersehen, We are the ocean und the blackout.

So viele gute Momente, so viel zu berichten und so wenig Zeit. Morgen gehts zu Alter Bridge und Black Stone Cherry, am Dienstag noch Switchfoot, Mittwoch zurück zur Arbeit und ich hoffe, dann wird auch wieder Zeit für Fotos&Reviews!

nice. Diesen Sommer in Berlin haben 3 Doors Down wieder einmal bestätigt, dass sie zu meinen Lieblingsbands gehören und dass Prime Circle nochmal dabei sind, ist auch schön. Dazu noch Seether, die ich schon vor längerer Zeit gerne sehen wollte (damals sollten sie mit Papa Roach (?) auf Tour kommen, dies kam durch irgendwelche Gründe dann doch nicht zustande). Auch wenn die Herren von 3DD mittlerweile alle etwas “in die Jahre gekommen” und fertig aussehen und oft viel zu patriotisch sind, bleiben sie live super.

And I’ll keep on running on this neverending race.

Da ich heute Blessthefall nicht angesehen hab, gehts wahrscheinlich durch etwas Leichtsinn und etwas Glück nun doch am Donnerstag zu City and Colour ins Docks. Bin sehr gespannt, nach meinem Gespräch vor einem Jahr mit Herrn Green ließ meine Euphorie stark nach, hoffentlich kann er mich durch die Musik doch wieder auf seine Seite ziehen.

Morgen noch einige Verpflichtungen dann abends auf zum besten Freund nach Hamburg. Donnerstag Kiezkongress, abends Reeperbahnfestival. Und nachdem diese Herren so nett und extrem unterhaltsam bei uns waren, werden sie definitiv angesehen (in der Haspa Filiale! Irre.)
